WHAT IS THE CLEMENTE SOCIETY?

The Clemente Society is a respected group of wine lovers and philanthropists dedicated to furthering the legacy of Roberto Clemente. each member who purchases a barrel donates 21% back to The Clemente Museum to assist in the preservation of the collections, as well as programming and education initiatives.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

Becoming a member is easy. Choose between a full or half barrel membership and contact us about how to proceed.

HOW DO donations work?

When you purchase a half or full barrel 21% of your full bottle count is automatically given back to the museum. This wine is used to raise funds for The Clemente Museum through auctions and other fundraising means. Since this is a direct donation to the museum and the museum operates as a 501(c)(3) you can also use this donated wine as a tax deduction.

WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF MY MEMBERSHIP?

Your society membership is good for up to two years. During this time period, we will store your half or full barrel in our temperature controlled wine cellar. When your membership is up, we will contact you to determine the location of remaining wine.

HOW CAN I USE THE SPACE?

Included with your membership is a discount (15% for half and 21% for full) on rental of the Engine House 25 space. Retail options include the entire Engine House 25 for social, corporate or fundraising events up to 125 people or the wine cellar for intimate gatherings up to 40 people. Our Society Engagement Director will work to specialize all events to fit each Society members’ needs.

How DO I GET MY WINE?

When ready, our Society Engagement Director will coordinate pick-up from the Engine House or ship to a desired location.  With the pick-up option, our staff will need a week notification for processing. If shipping is requested, a Fed-Ex account number is required, or we can subtract the cost of shipping off the society member’s total bottle count.

WHAT KIND OF WINE CAN I CHOOSE?

You can choose from a large variety of wines that have already matured or are in the process of maturing. This includes Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Carmenere, Cab Franc along with many others. White wines can also be considered as partial barrel supplements.

WHEN WILL MY BARREL BE READY?

The turnaround for your barrel to be selected and a custom logo applied is about a month. The wine itself, however, is available almost immediately.

HOW DO I DESIGN MY CUSTOM LABEL AND BARREL LOGO?

Part of  the Society membership is the ability to customize your bottles and barrel as you see fit. We are happy to work with you to use artwork that you already have or to design a fully customized label from scratch. Just let us know what you envision, and we are happy to work with you to make it a reality.

HOW MUCH WINE CAN I TAKE AT ONE TIME?

Since your barrel is a share, you can immediately have access to your full allotment of wine. However, if you want a specific varietal for the full amount the time period for availability lengthens to one year. This is in effect to the length of time it takes to age, bottle and rest the wine needed to fulfill your order.
